He has taught at Hunan University since October 1984, was promoted to professor in 1994, and was selected as a doctoral advisor in 1998. From July 2002 to May 2013, he served as Vice President of Hunan University, and from May 2013 to December 2016, he served as Party Secretary of Xiangtan University. He concurrently serves as Deputy Director of the Electronics, Information, and Electrical Engineering Subcommittee of the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association; Deputy Director of the Conclusion Review Committee of the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association; and Vice President of the Educational Evaluation Branch of the China Higher Education Society. In 1989, he was named a National Outstanding Teacher and a Model Worker in the Hunan Provincial Education System; in 2000, he was awarded a Special Government Allowance by the State Council. |

He currently serves as a member of the 8th Disciplinary Review Panel for Control Science and Engineering under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Deputy Head of a military expert group, and an expert on the Management Expert Group for the “Science and Technology Innovation 2030—New Generation Artificial Intelligence” Major Project under the Ministry of Science and Technology. He previously served as an expert on the expert panel for a major project under the National 863 Program and as Deputy Chief Engineer for a national major mission. His primary research areas include space robotics technology, teleoperation technology, intelligent control of spacecraft, human-machine hybrid intelligent control, and swarm cooperative control. He has published over 170 SCI-indexed papers and has received numerous scientific and technological awards, including the First Prize in Natural Sciences of Shaanxi Province, the First Prize in Technological Invention of Shaanxi Province, the First Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress of the Armed Forces, and the Second Prize in National Defense Technological Invention. |
![]() | Prof. Yang Tang, East China University of Science and Technology, ChinaIEEE Fellow, AAIA Fellow, National Distinguished ProfessorDr. Yang Tang is now a Professor at Department of Automation, and the Key Laboratory of Smart Manufacturing in Energy Chemical Process, Ministry of Education, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. He was a Research Associate with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, from 2008 to 2010. From 2011 to 2015, he conducted his postdoctoral research with the Humboldt University of Berlin, Berlin, Germany, and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Potsdam, Germany. He is now a Professor with the East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. He has published over 190 refereed papers in international journals such as Nature Communications, Patterns (Cell Press), Automatica, IEEE Transactions, SIAM Journals, CCF-A and APS journals (including more than 30 papers in IEEE TAC and Automatica). His current research interests include multi-agent systems/complex networks, cyber-physical systems, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, hybrid dynamical systems, and their applications. Dr. Tang was a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in 2011 and he got the National Young Distinguished Professor and National Distinguished Professor of 2015 and 2020, respectively.
